  1. I LOVE Nectar House - the space has such a wonderful energy and the property is very private. It's perfect for anyone interested in the various activities upstate has to offer. I'd like to stay there again this spring so I can take some classes at OMEGA - www.eomega.org

  2. what can i say. staying at the nectar house was such an amazing experience. the drive was under two hours from brooklyn and we really felt like we were away from it all. the local grocery store/farmers market was loaded with fresh organic produce and specialty foods without new york prices. you will want to want to take advantage of the gourmet kitchen! its loaded with just about everything and is easy to move around and create family style meals. the main living area has a beautiful stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings giving it a comfortable but not cramped feel. the sunroom, tucked behind the fireplace, provides a peaceful place to contemplate life, your next sledding adventure (there's a great hill on the property!)and maybe even take a nap. all the other amenities (stereo with ipod hookup, laundry...) helped make our weekend getaway very enjoyable and relaxing. can't wait to go back! love nectar house

  3. Good vibes at the Nectar House. I've stayed there a number of times with friends and have always had a peaceful, relaxing and fun time. A comfortable house, and plenty of room. The pool is great too. I love the sun room. A great place to take a nap, read and take some quiet moments away. Kitchen/livingroom is set up perfect for entertaining, and the deck is awesome. Definitely would go back anytime.

  4. We stay at Nector House when we escape the city for a peaceful retreat in the Hudson Valley. The house is quiet, clean and comfortable. The kids have plenty to do in and around the house as well as all the activities offered in Ulster. It is a short ride up from NYC and close to some of the most lovely gourmet restaurants. Towns people are friendly, skiing and snow tubing are close to the house. Apple/pumpkin picking and Halloween are Fall favorites. In the Summer, Nector House has a beautiful in ground pool and basketball hoop for a quick one on one. Sleeping in the sunroom allows for starwatching into the night and awakening to the early sunrise. Nector House is a great alternative to a hotel and the owners are friendly and accommodating. Rates are very reasonable. It has become our home away from home.

  5. Nectar House is a very special place for me. I'm pretty hard to please because I care so much about both the style of the space and its energy. At Nectar House, the original designer created an amazing flow that promotes both intimacy and gathering. The main room with its huge fireplace is the heart of the house - just as it should be. And the current owner, Renee, has modernized just the right elements to enhance the "bones" of the house. In addition, the property itself is inspiring - the setting atop a hill, the pool, and the deck. It's situated just far enough from Kingston that I feel like I'm in the country yet convenient enough for shopping as well as heading to great restaurants in Woodstock and Rhinecliff. Bottom line - I love being there.

  6. Nectar house provides a respite from the hectic rhythm of the city. The setting is picturesque and the decor minimalist and tasteful. It feels like a spiritual place as soon as you walk through the door. There are beautifully luxurious touches, like the jacuzzi, pool, or the nearly-silent washer/dryer. The kitchen is modern and enormous, perfect for making a large meal with friends!! There is an incredible sound system that is amenable to a dance party or a chill poolside party. The location can't be beat, as you are minutes from Woodstock and Saugerties. The lovely Overlook Mountain hike is not too far from the Nectar house, either (if you know where you're goin!!) This was a perfect weekend getaway, and I can't wait to come back!!!

  7. I was lucky to join friends at Nectar House for a long weekend. All of us fit comfortably for sleeping and got to cook, dine, hang out by the fire, swim, and sunbathe together. Even though there were 6+ of us it wasn't hard to slip away for a meditative moment on the deck-- which there were many to choose from! It was lovely. The energy was great. I fell in love with the local market complete with fresh corn and heirloom tomatoes! I can't wait for my next weekend getaway!
